Vagifem Warnings and Precautions

To help ensure a safe, effective treatment process with Vagifem, warnings and precautions should be reviewed with your healthcare provider. This medication is not suitable for everyone, and you may not be able to safely use it if you have cancer, high blood pressure, or heart disease. Vagifem warnings and precautions also apply to women who are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Talk with your healthcare provider prior to using Vagifem® (estradiol vaginal tablets) if you have:

  • Are pregnant or thinking of becoming pregnant
  • Are breastfeeding
  • Have an upcoming surgery
  • Smoke cigarettes.
     
Make sure to tell your healthcare provider about any other medicines you are taking, including prescription and non-prescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements.
