Before taking Premphase, warnings and precautions for the drug should be reviewed with your healthcare provider. For example, if you have diabetes, heart disease, or endometriosis, you may not be able to safely take Premphase. Warnings and precautions with this medication also apply to people who have certain allergies and to women who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Premphase: What Should I Tell My Healthcare Provider?
You should talk with your healthcare provider prior to using Premphase® (conjugated estrogens/cyclic medroxyprogesterone) if you have:
Had yellowing of the whites of the eyes or skin (jaundice) during a prior pregnancy or estrogen use
Gallbladder disease
An underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism)
Endometriosis
Unexplained vaginal bleeding
Any allergies, including allergies to drugs, foods, preservatives, or dyes.
Also, let your healthcare provider know if you:
Are pregnant or thinking of becoming pregnant
Are breastfeeding
Have an upcoming surgery
Smoke cigarettes.
Make sure to tell your healthcare provider about any other medicines you are taking, including prescription and non-prescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements.
