Ogen Side Effects

Irregular vaginal bleeding, breast tenderness, and headaches are among the commonly reported side effects of Ogen and other estrogen medications. In most cases, side effects are minor and do not require medical attention. However, certain Ogen side effects are potentially serious and should be reported to a healthcare provider immediately, including migraines, chest pain, breast lumps, or any signs of an allergic reaction.

 

An Introduction to Ogen Side Effects

As with any medicine, side effects are possible with Ogen® (estropipate). However, not everyone who takes the drug will experience side effects. In fact, most people tolerate it quite well. If side effects do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or are easily treated by you or your healthcare provider.

Common Side Effects of Ogen

Common side effects of estrogen medications such as Ogen include but are not limited to:
 
  • Headaches
  • Irregular vaginal bleeding or spotting
  • Breast tenderness
  • Abdominal (stomach) cramps or bloating
  • High blood sugar (hyperglycemia)
  • Fluid retention
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Hair loss
  • High blood pressure
  • Enlargement of benign tumors of the uterus (uterine fibroids)
  • Vaginal yeast infections.
