Drug Interactions With Mimvey

Before taking Mimvey, make sure your healthcare provider is aware of any other medications you are taking (including nonprescription medicines and herbal supplements). Certain antibiotics, protease inhibitors, and barbiturates can cause negative drug interactions when taken with Mimvey. These reactions can alter the amount of the medications in your blood, possibly causing side effects or decreasing the medicines' effectiveness.

An Introduction to Mimvey Interactions

Mimvey™ (estradiol/norethindrone) can potentially interact with several other medications and substances. Some of the products that may lead to Mimvey drug interactions include:
  • Barbiturates, such as:
    • Butalbital (Fioricet®, Fiorinal®)
    • Pentobarbital (Nembutal®)
    • Phenobarbital (Luminal®)
    • Secobarbital (Seconal®)
  • Various antibiotics or antifungals, such as:
    • Clarithromycin (Biaxin®)
    • Erythromycin (Ery-Tab®)
    • Isoniazid (Nydrazid®)
    • Itraconazole (Sporanox®)
    • Ketoconazole (Nizoral®)
    • Miconazole
    • Telithromycin (Ketek®).
