Menest Hormone Replacement (HRT)
As a type of hormone replacement therapy (HRT), Menest® (esterified estrogens) is approved for several uses, such as:
- Treating hot flashes, vaginal dryness, and other menopausal symptoms
- Treating hormone deficiency in younger women whose ovaries do not produce enough estrogen
- Relieving symptoms of certain cancers in both men and women that have spread throughout the body.
This medication contains an estrogen hormone and is available by prescription only. It comes in the form of a tablet that is taken once a day, with or without food. Although generally well tolerated, it may cause side effects such as breast pain, headaches, and vaginal bleeding.
