femhrt Drug Information

Women with hot flashes or other menopausal symptoms may benefit from a medication called femhrt® (norethindrone acetate/ethinyl estradiol). This drug is available by prescription only and is a type of hormone replacement therapy (HRT). In addition to treating symptoms of menopause, it can be used to prevent osteoporosis in postmenopausal women.
 
femhrt contains an estrogen hormone and a progesterone hormone. It is only approved for women who still have a uterus (who have not had a hysterectomy). The medication comes in tablet form and is usually taken once daily.
