Menopause Home > Treatment Instructions for Vagifem

What If I Take an Overdose?

People who take too much Vagifem may experience the following symptoms:

  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Vaginal bleeding.

(Click Vagifem Overdose for more information.)

How Should Vagifem Be Stored?

Vagifem should be stored at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. Keep this and all other medications out of the reach of children.

What If I Miss a Dose?

If you do not take your Vagifem as scheduled, take your missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not double your dose.

Available Strengths

Vagifem comes in one strength -- Vagifem 10 mcg (previously a higher strength of 25 mcg was available, but that product was discontinued).

Each tablet comes in a disposable applicator, and each package contains 8 or 18 tablets (and applicators).

Generic Vagifem

At this time, no generic versions of Vagifem are licensed for sale (see Generic Vagifem for more information).
