Menopause Home > Additional Medications That React With Femring

Some Seizure Medications
Certain seizure medications may cause your liver to metabolize the hormones in Femring too quickly, possibly leading to low levels of Femring in the body. Because Femring acts directly on the vaginal tissues, however, this interaction is probably not significant.

St. John's Wort
St. John's wort (a commonly used herbal supplement) may cause your liver to metabolize the hormones in Femring too quickly, which could lead to low levels of Femring in the body. Because Femring acts directly on the vaginal tissues, this interaction is probably not significant.

Thyroid Medications
If you take medications for an underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism) and Femring, your healthcare provider may need to increase the dose of your thyroid medication. Your healthcare provider should monitor you and make any necessary dosing adjustments.
