Menopause Home > Enjuvia Dosage
The Enjuvia dosage your healthcare provider recommends will be based on several factors, such as your particular menopause symptoms, how you respond to the drug, other medications you are taking, and other medical conditions you have. Enjuvia comes in tablet form and is taken once a day. For most women, the recommended starting Enjuvia dose is 0.3 mg once daily. If necessary, your healthcare provider may increase this dose.
Enjuvia Dosage: An IntroductionThe dose of Enjuvia® (conjugated estrogens) your healthcare provider recommends will vary, depending on a number of factors, including:
- Your particular menopause symptoms
- How you respond to Enjuvia
- Whether you have had a hysterectomy
- Other medical conditions you may have.
As always, do not adjust your Enjuvia dose unless your healthcare provider specifically instructs you to do so.
Enjuvia Dosing for MenopauseIf you still have a uterus, you must take Enjuvia with a progestin hormone, in order to reduce the risk of precancerous and cancerous uterine changes. The progestin can be taken every day or for just a certain part of the cycle (often the last half of each cycle). If you have had a hysterectomy, you do not have to take a progesterone with Enjuvia.
When using Enjuvia for menopausal symptoms, it is recommended that this medication be taken at the lowest effective dose for the shortest possible period of time. However, the most effective dose (and how long it should be taken) can vary considerably from one woman to the next. For treating hot flashes or night sweats, the recommended starting Enjuvia dose is 0.3 mg once daily. If necessary, your healthcare provider may increase your dose.
For treating vaginal symptoms (such as dryness, burning, or itching), the recommended dose is 0.3 mg daily, and the dose should generally not be increased when treating such symptoms. If your symptoms occur only during intercourse, a vaginal estrogen product is usually preferred, instead of Enjuvia (or any other oral hormonal replacement medication).
