Menopause Home > Delestrogen Dosage

The recommended Delestrogen dosage will vary, depending on the medical condition being treated, how you respond to the medication, and other medical conditions you have. For treating menopause symptoms and hormone deficiencies, the recommended Delestrogen dose is 10 mg to 20 mg injected once a month. When using Delestrogen for prostate cancer, the recommended dosage is a minimum of 30 mg injected once every one or two weeks.

Delestrogen Dosage: An Introduction

The dose of Delestrogen® (estradiol valerate) your healthcare provider recommends will vary, depending on a number of factors, including:
  • How you respond to Delestrogen
  • The medical condition being treated
  • Other medical conditions you may have.
As always, do not adjust your Delestrogen dose unless your healthcare provider specifically instructs you to do so.

Delestrogen Dosing for Menopause Symptoms

It is typically recommended that hormone replacement therapy (including Delestrogen) be taken at the lowest effective dose for the shortest possible period of time for treating menopause symptoms. However, the most effective dose (and how long it should be taken) can vary considerably from one woman to the next.
The recommended Delestrogen dose is 10 mg to 20 mg injected once every month. If you still have a uterus (if you have not had a hysterectomy), it is recommended that you take a progestin medication along with Delestrogen, in order to help prevent cancer of the lining of the uterus.

Delestrogen Dosing for Prostate Cancer

For prostate cancer, the recommended Delestrogen dosage is 30 mg (or more) injected once every one or two weeks. This is a very high Delestrogen dosage (much higher than recommended for other uses).
