Menopause Home > Pediatric and Off-Label Indications for Cenestin

Cenestin Use in Children

Cenestin is not approved for use in children.

Off-Label Cenestin Uses

On occasion, your healthcare provider may recommend Cenestin for something other than the conditions listed above. This is called an "off-label" use. Using Cenestin to prevent osteoporosis in postmenopausal women is considered an off-label Cenestin use, as is using Cenestin to alleviate the symptoms of certain types of cancers.

At one point, Cenestin was used off-label for preventing heart disease and dementia (such as Alzheimer's disease), but these are no longer considered legitimate off-label uses. Sometimes, hormones are used to promote youthfulness. Again, this is not generally accepted as a legitimate off-label Cenestin use.
