Hormone Replacement Therapy and High Blood Pressure: A Summary

A recent study indicated that blood pressure does not increase significantly with hormone replacement therapy (HRT) in most women with and without high blood pressure (hypertension). However, a few women may experience a rise in blood pressure that is attributable to estrogen therapy.
 

Hormone Replacement Therapy and High Blood Pressure: Recommendations

Because of this possible rise in blood pressure, it is recommended that all women treated with hormone replacement therapy have their blood pressure monitored more frequently after such therapy is started.
