Generic EstroGel

There are no generic EstroGel products currently available. It is not exactly known why there are no generic versions of this medication available, but it may be because it is not profitable for a manufacturer to make a generic EstroGel. It is also not known when a generic version of EstroGel will become available.

 

EstroGel Generic: An Overview

EstroGel® (estradiol gel) is a prescription estrogen hormone replacement medication. It is approved for treating hot flashes, night sweats, and vaginal symptoms due to menopause.
 
EstroGel is manufactured by Ascend Therapeutics, Inc. EstroGel is not currently available in generic form.
 

Why Isn't Generic EstroGel Available?

It is not entirely clear why there are no generic versions EstroGel. There are no unexpired patents for this medication. Perhaps it would not be profitable enough for a manufacturer to make a generic version of EstroGel.
 

When Will Generic EstroGel Be Available?

This is difficult to predict. It is possible that there may never be any generic versions of EstroGel. At this point, generic EstroGel is not predicted to become available in the immediate future.
