EstringEstring is used to relieve vaginal and urinary problems caused by menopause. Specifically, it is approved to treat dryness, itching, and burning in and around the vagina and painful or urgent urination. This prescription medication replaces the estrogen that the ovaries no longer produce. The medication comes as a flexible ring that is inserted vaginally every 90 days. Potential side effects include headaches, back pain, and vaginal yeast infections.
