More Instructions for Estring

What If I Take an Overdose?

People who take too much Estring may experience the following symptoms:
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Breast tenderness
  • Abdominal pain (stomach pain)
  • Drowsiness and fatigue
  • Vaginal bleeding (in females).
(Click Estring Overdose for more information.)

How Should Estring Be Stored?

Estring should be stored at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. Keep this and all other medications out of the reach of children.

What If I Miss a Dose?

If you forget to remove and replace your Estring after 90 days, you may begin to experience increased menopause symptoms, as the ring will begin to release less estrogen after 90 days. Simply remove the old ring and replace it with a new one as soon as you remember.

Estring comes in one strength, designed to release 7.5 mcg (0.0075 mg) every 24 hours for 90 days.

Generic Estring

At this time, no generic versions of Estring are licensed for sale (see Generic Estring for more information).
