Elestrin Warnings and Precautions

Prior to using Elestrin, warnings and precautions for the drug should be discussed with your healthcare provider. You should also tell him or her about all other medical conditions you have, including high blood pressure, endometriosis, diabetes, or asthma. Elestrin is not suitable for everyone; you should not use Elestrin if you have liver disease, a history of breast cancer, or undiagnosed abnormal genital bleeding.

You should talk with your healthcare provider prior to using Elestrin™ (estradiol gel) if you have:
 
Also, let your healthcare provider know if you:
 
  • Smoke cigarettes
  • Have an upcoming surgery
  • Are pregnant or thinking of becoming pregnant
  • Are breastfeeding.
     
Make sure to tell your healthcare provider about any other medicines you are taking, including prescription and non-prescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements.
