Brisdelle Warnings and Precautions
You should not take Brisdelle if you are:
- Allergic to Brisdelle, paroxetine, paroxetine mesylate, paroxetine controlled release, or any of the inactive components used to make the medication. Your healthcare provider or pharmacist has a list of the inactive ingredients.
- Taking or have taken a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) within the past two weeks (see Brisdelle Drug Interactions). You should also not take an MAOI if you have taken Brisdelle in the past two weeks.
- Taking thioridazine (Mellaril®) or pimozide (Orap®).
- Pregnant.
There are a number of situations in which Brisdelle should not be used, along with several warnings and precautions people should be aware of before beginning treatment. However, it is possible that not all of these issues were discussed in this article. Therefore, you should talk with your healthcare provider about the specific safety concerns that may apply to you.
